2013 Nature Awareness Study (2014)

What does Nature signify for human beings? What is their idea of wilderness and to what extent to they believe wilderness exists in Germany? What do they consider to be the pros and cons of national parks? How has public opinion changed regarding the energy transition? How much importance do people attach to flood control? Who consumes organic products and why? How much of a priority for the population are conservancy and biological diversity?

Empirical answers to these and other questions were presented in the 2013 Nature Awaremess Study. The SINUS-Institut conducted this research together with Dr. Fritz Reusswig from the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) on behalf of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building, and Nuclear Safety (BMUB), and the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN).
